EXPO 2020 – Showcases UAE Enterprise

The EXPO 2020 will truly be a spectacular edition of the World Expo that traces its roots back to 1851. It was held in England where over 6 million visitors filled the halls of different nations showcasing their might. In 2021, we expect about 20 million visitors to throng the exhibits of almost all the countries of the world.

Dubai won the privilege to hold the EXPO 2020 which had to be deferred by a year but still holds the same promise and glory. Stated to open on October 1, 2021, the EXPO 2020 will be an opportunity to show the world the enterprising spirit of UAE rulers and the organizational capability of its government to host over 190+ nations. EXPO 2020 is a unique global platform to attract investments, forge agreements and promote international cooperation.

The EXPO 2020 will also be an opportunity to showcase the enterprise of local businesses that will build the infrastructure, manage the services and host over 20 million visitors, which is almost double its population. It will also show the world what UAE businesses have to offer and what international companies can achieve by participating with local companies. UAE-based businesses have been working since the announcement in 2013 to prepare for this event and when the doors open on October 1, 2021, the world will truly know the true potential of the UAE and its business entities.

The UAE has already made an investment of over AED 25 billion in building the infrastructure for the event which will include the venue, roads, mass transit, and hotels. A plethora of business sectors including construction, hospitality, tourism, telecom have been working tirelessly to make this happen.

Electric Way has been privileged to work on numerous EXPO 2020 projects. We have directly and through our partners supplied a wide range of cables, cable management systems, cable accessories, and electrical products to the site. We have collaborated with design engineers, architects, contractors, and our principals to offer the most advanced and appropriate technology for the EXPO.

And I am sure that like us, the various other UAE business leaders have been contributing their energies to ensure the fruitful fulfillment of the vision of the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Prime Minister His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Almost every business in the country has participated and while doing this, they have been able to not only gain commercially but also learn from the challenges posed by this magnanimous event.

And once EXPO 2020 comes to a close, it would have created billions worth in opportunities for local businesses that would have expanded their portfolio, signed new agreements, and formed new partnerships. It will signal the beginning of a new era of growth in the UAE.

We feel honored to have played a role in this ‘once in a lifetime’ event and are extremely hopeful that Electric Way will benefit from the blooms of EXPO 2020.
