Marine cables have low smoke emissions which is a fire safety measure. In the event of a fire, the cable does not generate high density smoke. A low dense smoke emission will speed up the efforts to extinguish the fire and lead to less considerable damage. As the smoke is minimal, there is no health hazard poised to the passengers on board.
